The Open Compute Project announced today that a number of telecom industry leaders have joined the organization and are collaborating on a new effort focused on data center technologies for telcos. The OCP Telco Project will help increase understanding of the technical and operational needs of telcos, as well as enable a new industry to benefit from the innovation, cost savings, and flexibility made possible by open hardware designs.
